Villa Teresa Announces 11th Annual Spring Soiree Dinner Auction

Oklahoma City, OK (March 14, 2008) - Villa Teresa Catholic School will hold its 11th Annual Spring Soiree Dinner Auction, Saturday, April 26, 2008 in the St. Mary’s Conference Center at St. Anthony Hospital (located across the street in basement of Behavioral Hospital.) Money raised will benefit capital improvements for the school including much needed replacement of windows in the Learning Center 3 building and sprinkler systems throughout the school grounds. It will also go toward a fund that provides Tuition Assistance and Scholarship Programs for families that could not afford it otherwise.

This year’s theme is “A Mayan Holiday” in honor of Oklahoman missionary and martyr, Father Stanley Rother, who served the people of Guatemala until his murder in 1981. Included in the auction are artifacts from Rother’s personal collection. “We have some beautiful pieces from the hands of those for whom he gave his life” said Sr. Veronica Higgins. One piece is even bordered by a frame built by Father Rother himself.

Additional items to be auctioned include a week long condo stay in Orlando, FL and a 3 page website setup with hosting for a year, both valued at over 1000.00. Several local businesses have contributed services and lots of goods that are sure to make for an exciting night of bidding.

There will be several types of auctions going on at once, including a live auction, silent auction, sucker pull and dessert auction. Latin music and food will compliment the evening. Events start at 6:30 pm. Childcare for children ages 2 /12 through 10 will be available at the school until 9:30 pm with a suggested donation of 10.00-20.00. Tickets ($ 15.00 per person or $25.00 per couple) can be purchased in advance at Villa Teresa or at the door the night of the event.

For additional information on the Villa Teresa Spring Soiree, contact Sr. Veronica Higgins 232-4286 or email school@coxinet.net.
