The Story of Father Rother
This year's auction is in memory of Father Stanley Rother. If you are like me, you might remember the name but not the story. I was in first grade when Father Rother's life was prematurely taken. When we started planning this year's auction, I decided to find out who this amazing man was. His dedication to his village and the word of God was strong and his story deserves to live on.
There is a link to the OKC Archdiocese page on the right hand column that will provide extensive information on Father Rother, his possible canonization and the amazing life he led. We have also posted an article written in the Sooner Catholic in August of 1981. the week after Father Rother was murdered, which details his life's work and commitment to his village of Santiago Atitlan in Guatemala.
